Sun Up at Low Tide by PhotoByTrace Sun Up at Low Tide by PhotoByTrace
Low tide on the tidal flats at Bushland Beach, Townsville. The morning clouds helped provide an interesting crepuscular ray show.

Thanks George... and I am envious of your architecture, groynes and fog... though happy to say you can keep your weather lol.
I was pleased with how this photo turned out... but like the struggle you had with your windmill and the mud, I had to offer up a sacrifice to the photography gods in the name of this photo. I stood long too still taking the series of these photos; I'd felt myself slowly sinking into the tidal flat mud, but was too caught up in capturing photos to really pay attention. The result was that my shoes were suctioned down into the mud never to be retrieved again, and I got the "pleasure" of walking back a kilometer or so across the mudflat barefooted.

Ah, but what a place to lose them!

Maybe in a couple of thousand years someone will dig them up, "We know every little about the owner. Why were they here? What were they doing at this very spot? We've found three mysterious indentations in the ground around the shoes.".

...And the clouds didn't move during these 20 sec' ?

Only a little... fairly slow moving that morning. Some slight smudging is apparent. I took a series of six exposures of this framing, some 30 secs and some 20 secs, over about 5 minutes as the sun rose through this bank of clouds. I liked this composition best though as there was an additional bank of cloud at the top of the frame that moved out of frame by this photo, and in the next the sun broke through so more overexposed.

Thanks for your full of heart&passion answer(s). I had notice the very tiny distorsion in the clouds due to the weak winds, but 20 sec' means in a way ...it wasn't windy in altitude. Anyway, I enjoyed the shot&hope you'll show us some more beauties in the futur to come
